Old Friends are the Best Friends
There’s nothing like old friends. You know, those people who still like you even though you said or did something dumb, embarrassing or silly. Real friends understand and usually laugh with you vs. at you. I’m blessed to have many friends who I feel safe and comfortable “being me” around.
Recently I got together with my college roommates in Colorado. Trust me - college was a long time ago! We gathered in Estes Park where one of my pals owns a beautiful home set right outside Rocky Mountain National Park. What a treat.
There were four of us and the moment we saw each other, it seemed as if no time had passed at all. Yes, we had some catching up to do - but it was a joy to be together. Funny how you don’t see someone for 20-plus years but the minute you do … you pick up right where you left off.
The only bad part of connecting with old friends for a fabulous weekend is that it goes by too quickly and you have to say good-bye again. Next year, we’ll plan to stay longer.
I’m already looking forward it!
